Lyoness Australia Update

Photobucket

Judging by the number of responses to my last post on Lyoness Australia, this business is a hot little number at the moment.  .

Will it last? Who knows, but certainly the concept has captured the imnagination of a lot of people. Although I have said before that Lyoness sort of reminds me of (online auction portal) Dubli which swept through this part of the world a couple of years ago (where are they now? Who knows who cares, right?)

A couple of weeks ago I had an interesting conversation with  a guy who was the CEO of Lynoness USA.  The operative word there is ‘was’ – he no longer holds that position.  He said he had a falling out with the founder.  Go figure.

One point he did make (and is worth repeating), is that although somewhat succesful in Europe, so far it has failed to really take off in the US.  Maybe it will be a slow build over there.  He also said that hyper growth companies like Visalus are blitzing companies like Lyoness.

Time will tell if Lyoness establises itself as a long term proposition in Australia.  Hopefully it will be successful as the concept seems sound.

(I am NOT a Lyoness rep!)

Too Eager To Grab A Work From Home Opportunity

I was mulling over the possibility of engaging in a work from home business on my way home from the office yesterday. It was a bit of an ‘off’ day at work, you know that one day that reminds you of the deep-seated grievances you have about the management and its policies. These misgivings show up in my reverie whenever I think about the pros and cons of being employed.

The thought of payday soothes my nerves like a balm, however recently it failed to keep me from entertaining unpleasant thoughts about my job, the office and the whole system. It is as if something inside me knows that my luck is elsewhere or at least, a work from home opportunity could provide a healthy diversion.

A few of my friends and acquaintances have delved into work from home stints and so far none of them has complained about the level of income. My brother’s sister-in-law joined a multi-level marketing business that sells food supplements and nutritional shakes and she has mentioned to me the last time I saw her that she is perfectly happy with her output. Do I really want to sell that?

Actually, I am not sure, but I am going to find out soon because I got her number and I will call her about this. I am just a bit creeped out because they said that multi-level and networking marketing associates should be the one to seek me, not the other way around.

Oh, and there is another someone I know who has a far more interesting work from home stint. He writes marketing articles or various firms. He was a colleague from my previous company and we kind of reconnected in Facebook and it was just mentioned in passing.

Now that I think about it, it sort of puzzles me why he even mentioned that piece of information. Maybe he was bragging, like, ‘I am such a hipster I write marketing articles.’

But I also asked him how he got the opportunity and he said that he posted an advertisement online and offers came pouring in. That sounds too good to be true, but it may hold true if he has insider contacts who paved the way for him. I got a big lesson there: ‘expand your horizons and exploit your contacts.’

A good friend of mine who was a graduate of an accounting course had a difficult time finding regular employment fit for her educational background. She was determined to work in accounting office and she just will not concede and apply for other positions.

In her stubbornness to get an accounting job, she landed as a freelance bookkeeper. She discovered the opportunity at a party where, for some reason, a lot of small business owners showed up.

Apparently, small businesses have a limited budget for bookkeeping labor that is why they prefer to work with freelancers so they can deal on a per project basis.

These are very lucky people to find work from home opportunities that easy. I hope to meet my new prospective client as breezy as that when I officially launch my freelance career.

The Benefits That Pulled Me Into Work From Home In Australia

It was a few years back when I first learned about the notion of a work from home set-up. I heard a great many things about it and I cannot say I was not enticed. I mulled over the thought of a home based work in Australia.

Convenience is the most promising feature of working from home that had me initially interested. There are days when I do not exactly feel energetic about getting up and preparing for work. It could have been a hangover or a simple bummed out aura, the point is, I just feel too lethargic to take a shower and travel to the office.

The thought of being able to work at my desired time and space really got me. I mean, I am confident about my competence and I feel that if I were given a greater responsibility to accomplish something at my own pace, I could fulfil my potential.

Speaking of ‘working at my own pace,’ the flexibility of time also got me more interested in joining the thousands of persons in Australia who have transformed their lives with a work from home business. I used to hold a job that ate up all time on weekdays that left my weekends filled with piled up house -errands. Even weekend get-togethers started to feel like chores because I need to fulfil my societal duties in the span of 48 hours. Looking back, it was indeed a whirlwind of overlapping schedules.

Well as of this time, I can safely say that I have time for the most important things. I get up in the morning to have a real breakfast with the family and proceed to my work from home business afterwards.

Immediate home concerns, errands, groceries, recitals, I have time for all of these; because as it is, how I manage my load is entirely up to me. I can even squeeze in a bit of shopping and country trips this time.

Another great thing about work from home in Australia is the financial aspect. One lazy day, I had the thought of calculating how much transportation allowance I have saved, and it resulted to a surprising value! For one, I stopped spending for office lunches, bus and cab fares, gasoline expense, I even saved on wardrobe expense. If you think about it, I was not only saving on time and transportation but on occupational expenses as well.

I have never realized it until I did the math and I was so pleased and further encouraged to keep this going.

You know some people I have met, they had trouble managing their lives and because of work, lost touch with their loved ones, and we are just earning the same money, on a particularly slow month for me. I am glad I chose to work from home in Australia because it made my life just how I wanted it to be. I would love to encourage my friends to work from home too so we can hang out on weekends in the outback.
