I was at a Mastermind networking breakfast this morning, and in the meeting after the meeting, the topic morphed into motivation, and how to stay motivated.  Now it doesn’t matter if you do MLM, direct sales, home based business, or just work in a job.  Staying motivated is key.

I work from home, and on the whole I am highly motivated.  But sometimes I just don’t FEEL like doing anything.  Has this ever happened to you?  If it has, maybe you have some strategies you use to quickly snap out of it.

What I have found is that reading an inspiring article or book helps.  Sometimes I watch a short video or listen to an instructional audio, and that helps too.  But there is one strategy I use that always works.  What is it?  I pick up the phone and talk to people.  After a few calls, my blue mood quickly changes and presto!, I’m firing on all fours again.  Miraculous.  No great secret, but that’s all I do.  Try it.

In essence when you are highly motivated you have moved to a higher level of consciousness.  When this happens you score some wonderful outcomes.  Marketing superstar Randy Gage reckons it’s all about higher consciousness.  Here are the benefits according to Randy:

• You will notice opportunities you previously would have missed.
• You will attempt greater things that previously you would have not tried.
• You will accomplish many of these new daring projects.
• You will attract people of higher consciousness around you.
• People vibrating at lower consciousness will start to avoid you.
• You’ll feel much better about yourself.
• Your health will improve dramatically.
• You’ll make a lot more money.
• You’ll have some very special people in your life.

There ya go.  No downsides, only upsides.  If staying motivated is an issue for you, do whatever you need to do to banish your demons once and for all.

If you are investigating business opportunities what is your default reaction to each offering?  Does it tend to be skeptical and cynical?  Or do you approach each offering with an open mind?

If your reaction is more on the negative side, you may simply be saying to yourself that your intuition or gut feel was telling you ‘no’.  That might be true, but if you’ve been looking at lots of proposals over an extended period, the problem may go deeper than that.

Rather than your reaction being attributable to intuition, it may simply be because of negative programming.  And it is this negative programing that is holding you back. Negative programming can sabotage you and keep you stuck in your rut.

I think that is a reality for lots of people.  Their programming is paralyzing them.  Sometimes it manifests as ‘paralysis of analysis’ – it’s that old stinkin’ thinkin’ again.

If after reading this and you have indentified this as a problem, you need to find a way forward.  Embracing the concept of ‘prosperity consciousness’ would be a good start.  That would then enable you to look at things through different eyes.  You’ll see possibilities whereas before all you saw were problems and roadblocks.

No matter what type of home based business you’re looking at, one thing is clear.  You need to keep the spirits up.  Staying motivated is a critically important success component.  This is particularly so, if you embark on a career in mlm (multi level marketing), otherwise known as network marketing. 

If you don’t stay motivated, inertia can be the result.  It can be a downward spiral from there. 

So, how to stay motivated?   One way is to plug into personal development programs.  I always get a buzz from listening to a great CD on a personal growth topic.  A great place to start is to have a look at The Secret.
