European network marketing sensation, Lyoness, is launching in Australia in January 2012. Lots of excitement has been generated in Australia already.
Lyoness is essentially a cash back discount shopping club. It was founded in Austria in 2003. Currently they have more than 2 million members/customers, and 350 employees. The value of transactions is more than $3 billion a year, with more than 100 million products and services on offer (if you believe it). The company operates in 22 countries.
Somewhat reminiscent of auction shopping biz, Dubli, Lyoness in a way is like an updated version of Amway in that they have a large catalogue of name brand product and services. The difference being that Lyoness has a vast range of brand name offerings.
Recently Lyoness opened in the US, but at this point it is too early to say how successful it will be there. Europe is different to the US and Australia, so it is not possible to predict how successful it will be in Australia.
Lyoness Brand Partners
In Europe Lyoness has forged relationships with a myriad of brand partners such as BMW, Jaguar, Shell, Dell, HP, Panasonic and Ferrari.
The Cash back paid on purchases for members is not huge (it is 1%), but it can be more attractive for big ticket products such as cars.
Making Money With Lyoness
If you plan to review the Lyoness pay plan you will need the following aids:
- Large note pad
- Glass of Scotch
- Pain killers
This is because of the mind numbing complication of the pay plan. It’s a doozie. Most people will glaze over after watching the pay plan video.
Bottom line is that the margins are very small which means of course that any business builder will need big numbers of members to make good money.
The type of pay plan is a 2 X 2 matrix which means that a certain number of people have to fill the matrix (35 X 35) before a commission is paid, which initially would be the princely sum of $875. Matrix plans do not have a great track record so it is good to see a quality company such as Lyoness making it work.
You can start as a business partner for around $3,000 for the coveted founder’s position. To earn commissions you will be required to recruit 4 other business partners.

You’ve said enough, Kim. I will quote you, “Matrix plans do not have a great track record”. They are heavily weighted, like binaries, towards the heavy hitter. If you can’t recruit anybody, then you will never be successful (let alone make a dime) with a “matrix” plan.
I wish them all the best, but it’s going to be a tough go for the “Average Joe” to make money with a plan that expect a huge initial outlay. BTW, what does this “princely sum of $675″ get you? If it’s just an overpriced distributor kit with a few photocopied materials & some product samples, I’m not sold … and I’m sure that there will be fewer people than me, too!
Point taken Greg. Although to be fair they seem to have had great success in Europe. Will watch them closely.
Hi Kim,
you love to teach and you’re good at it – that is already 50% of the recipe to become a successful premium business member with Lyoness!
Now you probably wonder what the other 50% represent…
The Lyoness cash-back system? Nope.
The support they provide to business members? Not at all.
Huge initial outlay? No way.
If that had been the case, either everyone would have made big bucks with Lyoness in Europe or nobody at all. But as you could guess, the truth is somewhere in between.
Luck? You rather be kiddin’ as there is no such thing today.
The other 50% is information, the… right information in fact.
. They’ve actually been the most successful in turning the system into a business and social development opportunity for themselves.
If you ask ten blindfolded people to touch an elephant and then describe what that was, you would get ten different opinions (to say the least). And you will be nowhere near the truth.
As an European I’ve had the chance to talk with hundreds of people about Lyoness, but only a dozen knew the most relevant info about it – yet they were humble to admit there were many things for them to learn, especially on the pay plan
However those who once claimed they ‘knew’ the ins and outs of Lyoness, and how it works or what doesn’t, they have not had much of a success if any. Some of them are not even interested in buying Shell, HP, Dell and the like at a discount today. “I can afford the purchase, don’t need that joke of a discount” I hear from a few of them sometimes…
So Kim, to cut things short, you have quite an experience under your belt. Do you want to be successful with Lyoness? Not watch it closely from the side, but win from within.
It’s not easy, but it’s not difficult either. You’re strong at people interaction already, let’s do something together on the information side!
I’m there for you.
And Greg, there’s no ditributor kit, unless you want to count the petrol in your car tank, the bread & butter on your plate or the plane ticket to your next holiday destination!
That’s why it works for the average Joe…
But I liked the way you query things, so we could work together as well.
The bigger the Lyoness community, the higher the discounts negotiated with traders, the better for Joe’s pocket and for the children in need of education. Together we are strong!
Guys, 99% of aussies will simply be using this as a reward card to claim cash back. There is nothing more for them to “learn” or know.
For the 1% who are interested in this as a business opportunity : as with any business, one needs to work through the margins and put in some effort to turn a profit. In the end, someone will receive a cut (0.5%-1%) of everyones spending, I’d rather get a slice than try and fully understand the maths behind the conpany’s payout formula.
If it’s all too hard, just get a card and get the discounts.
This is just a prymind scam
not proven
fair comment
time will tell
Lyoness is not a pyramid or a scam it has a tuv Rheinland accreditation and Iso9001 so it does what it says on the tin that is why every country in the World is letting Lyoness in with flying colors.
For sure. People throw the scam word around so much that it loses potency. Any half inteligent analysis of the company will show it to be a solid and legitimate business.
Hi guys
I’m based in Brisbane and already business partner with Lyoness if you need more info or personal presentation on know how Lyoness works and what kind of opportunities it offers please feel free to email me at
blyonesspartner@hotmail.com
TUV accreditation simply means a company’s activities are not harmful to the environment or your health (although that’s stretching it, falling victim to an obvious pyramid scheme will at least significantly raise your blood pressure…) and getting ISO certification is easy as pie, as long as you show them a nice office and a whole ****load of binders with documented “procedures” in them, ie. something a half-conscious admin assisstant and average lawyer could accomplish in a matter of hours. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and promises to generate money out of thin air then it must be Madoff and 150 years in jail ver 2.0…
the great concept about lyoness is that it does not sell anything so it cant be a pyramid or scam, the loyalty partners the likes of walmart, tesco, Arcadia group, argos, boots,m&s,coles, etc sell their millions of products through their website and its free to join lyoness so there is no risk (so shoppers get your free cashback card and get 2%cashback with every purchase plus other benefits)Remember the loyalty partners are giving the discounts,if you need any more information on lyoness dont hesitate to give me an email on smooneylyonesseagles@gmail.com..
I have to say i went into this with all the questions above.
Would it work?
What would happen to my $3000 Au
Was it a scam?
But my wife and i have made almost $20,000 in the first 2 months.
I dont care what you say, in my book thats AWESOME!!!!
Since we have not sold a thing or taken ANY money of ANYONE
I cant think of an easier way to make that kinda money.
Sure if you do nothing you’ll probably get little. BUT what i think most people dont take the time to understand is how NO ONE loses in this.
Retailers generate significant additional MONTHLY income when customers arent even shopping with them
Shoppers get cash from stores they got NOTHING from before
and Business builders share in the overall pie for helping to roll it out
This is NOT Network marketing. Its the roll out of an alternative economy.
Im happy to show anyone the figures we are doing on this.
If we can make almost 20G in 2 months I cant IMAGINE what will happen to this when it goes national and Asian continental
Oooh by the way how can it be a pyramid or ponzi if no one is making money of ANY of the people they introduce.
ALL the money is made from your units maturing through the matirx
And that money comes from the % retailers give to lyoness on referral sales. Affiliate marketing !
This is the CLEANEST biz i have ever seen
BRING IT ON I say
P.s i am happy to share my experience and prove my figues but im not interested in spending hours convincing naysayers.
This is a short term project. We are project managers, the numbers are capped and time is limited.
it will be all over in 12 -24months. Bring on my retirement plan i say
excellent response Geoff
Hi Geoff,
I am interested in knowing how this works. How can I contact you??
Cheers…Craig
Hi all,
My question is not whether it is working in the uk or not, cause I’ve got friends there to confirm that the company exists and it does what it claims. What I’m concerned is that if its launching in australia, how come the official website have no announcement in that regards? How can one be sure that it would definitely launch in Australia? There has been other network companies which have said they wil launch in certain countries but failed to do so in the end. People need some more evident in Australia not evidence in uk and not just word of mouth that it would definitely launch.
Hi Geoff, I’m also interested in knowing more about it, how can i contact you? Myke
Lyoness Is the best opportunity that I have seen to date.
The small outlay is just a downpayment against future purchases and not ‘just money out of your pocket’ – its a committiment to the system. I made it back and more in my first month in the business. I joined it in November 2011 and to date have made over $12,000. Not a bad investment.
I have been taking to a guy in the UK who joined it 13 months ago and has now quit his job and is earning over 100,000 GBP per month. – This opportunity really works.
Follow the link at the end to see more information about it.
In Short:
You also get .5% of the purchases of the people that you introduce and .5% of who they introduce. (Its not a MLM)
In Phase one of the release they are going to spend a lot of money marketing it and give those who join early direct consumers.
They anticipate from the release in other countries that 5% of the population will join up quickly
eg. 1000 people join now before market release and they get 1 million people we all get 1000 consumers. If those consumers spend $1000 per month on petrol, groceries, travel etc
You would get .5% of that spend = $5000.00 per month income. The research in other countries also showed that the average consumer advised 5.2 friends or relatives to also get the cash back on their spending. So the 1000 people could quickly become 6000 people of which you get .5% of their spend. Same example = $30,000 per month.
It is big in Europe and has just started in the UK and the States and will be opening in Australia this year.
Have a look and it and if you are interested or want some more information please let me know.
